Day 1 Kilimanjaro International Airport to Arusha

A staff member of Jerry Tanzania Tours will pick you up from the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). From here you will be driven to Hotel in Arusha and briefed on your upcoming safari. Enjoy a restful night before beginning your safari tomorrow.

Day 2 Arusha - Tarangire National Park

In the morning at around 8:00 a.m. your safari guide will arrive at the hotel and inform the receptionist that he is waiting for you. After meeting up with your driver, you will start your approximate two-hour journey to Tarangire National Park. The park is famous for its diverse landscape with nine different vegetation zones. Tarangire is particularly known for the abundance of Ancient Baobab trees (the largest trees in the continent) which fill the landscape and dwarf the animals next to them. The river of the park is full of wildlife ranging from a large variety of birds to lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes
and, of course, elephants. In fact, this park has the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. The lunch area is fascinating, boasting an observatory with amazing views to the river and wildlife (with good chances of seeing a hunt while having your picnic). After an extensive game drive, enjoyed from the open roof of the vehicle, you will reach the Tarangire Sopa Lodge in the early evening for some relaxation and a delicious dinner.

Day 3 Tarangire National Park – Karatu

After a hearty breakfast you will head out on another game drive in the Tarangire National Park. During the dry season between June and October, the Tarangire River is the only permanent source of water and the wildlife tends to concentrate in its vicinity. You will stop at one of the picnic spots for lunch. In the afternoon, you will leave this beautiful park behind. Passing through the multi-cultural town of Mto wa Mbu, the higher lands are soon reached and wonderful views of the Maasai Plains and the Lake Manyara open up before you. After the obligatory photo stop, you will make your way to the vegetation-rich crater highlands. Today’s destination is Ngorongoro Oldeani Mountain Lodge situated on a picturesque hill with spectacular views onto Oldeani Mountain and the Ngorongoro Crater Rim.

Day 4  From Karatu to Serengeti National Park, by way of Ngorongoro
Conservation Area

After an early breakfast, you will drive towards the most famous National park in the World, the Serengeti. You will drive up the crater highlands, making a quick stop at the rim for an out of this world view of Ngorongoro Crater. This will be an unforgettable moment for anyone seeing it for the first time. As you progress well into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means, in local language, "endless plains". The park has 5,700 sq. mile (14,763 sq. km) and for most of it, the plains will stretch to the horizon defying your senses and perception of distances. It is the home of the Great Migration and to 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras and all kinds of antelopes including the abundant impalas and Thomson's gazelles. As for Big Cats and large predators, it's the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, with many television scenes like the famous river crossings having been filmed in this park. Smaller animals like foxes, mongoose, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, rock hyrax and African hares, together with more than 500 species of birds, also inhabit this park. The stunning Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge will be your home for the two nights.

Day 5 Serengeti National Park

Waking up in the Serengeti is something really special. Sights, sounds and smells of Africa are all around you, and ahead is a full day of adventure in the world’s most famous national park. After breakfast, you start today with the morning section of your game drive in Serengeti National Park, marveling at the stunning scenery, ever changing light and always entertaining wildlife, all explained to you by your professional guide. After your picnic lunch, you set off again, searching for wildlife in this awe-inspiring park. Serengeti’s wonders evolve subtly as the day progresses. The myriad animals and birds are the ‘stars of the show’ and Nature’s dramas can unfold at any time. Of course, the animals don’t work to any schedule, so you may find lion or leopard, elephant and zebra, cheetah and antelope at any time on your drives. At the end of the afternoon, you return to the Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge for dinner and some much needed rest.

Day 6 Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast you will join another game drive in the Serengeti National Park and you might spot animals you haven’t seen during the last two days. The Serengeti is also home to the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard – and today you might be able to see all the members of this group. After lunch at a picnic site, you will drive in direction of the Ngorongoro Crater and as soon as you have reached the edge of the crater, the caldera opens up before you. This approximate 20 km wide crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to over 25,000 animals. On arrival, you will settle in at the lodge while a tasty, hot dinner is prepared for you. Tomorrow, the wonders of the crater await you.

Day 7 Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

After an early breakfast you will start your descent on a narrow and steep road to the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest, unbroken and unflooded caldera in the world and it has an unbelievable diversity of wildlife. In addition to zebras and wildebeests, you might also spot the rare black rhino and other members of the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. The crater is also home to other animals such as hyenas, waterbucks, bushbucks, eland and more than 500 bird species. After extensive game viewing and a lunch at a picnic spot, you will leave the caldera and travel back to Arusha, where you will arrive in the early evening.
