Tour Highlights

Stone Town is Zanzibar’s historic heart, a bewildering maze of streets and alleyways that form the westernmost tip of Zanzibar Town. . These days the island’s bustling capital is home to some quarter of a million people, but lost in the tangle of Stone Town’s narrow streets it’s easy to imagine yourself floating back in time. Twisting passages unfurl beneath delicate balconies as you dodge clattering coffee carts and slip by past ornately carved doors. This tour will also have you visit Jozani Forest Reserve just south of Zanzibar Town. Jozani is home to the fabulous Kirk’s red colobus monkey, which with its distinctive grey tufts and ochre-red back is one of the rarest sights in Africa.

Day 1:- Arrival in Zanzibar

You will be picked up from Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) and driven to Zanzibar Stone Town. It is the old city and cultural hub of Zanzibar. Very little has changed in the last 200 years. The Zanzibar Stone Town is a place of winding alleys, bustling bazaars, mosques and grand Arab houses whose original owners vied with each other over the extravagance of their dwellings.
In the evening, you will have free time to relax or have leisure walks in the narrow streets of Stone Town.
Accommodation: Tembo House Hotel

Day 2:- Jozani Forest

Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park or shorter – Jozani Forest is the only national park on Zanzibar. Even though it is small, only 50 km2 (19 sq. mi), it is a beautiful and tranquil place to visit! Jozani forest is a natural pharmacy, an amazing source of natural remedies! Every plant or tree cures something. What is so beautiful about Jozani forest tour, that height of the trees and the palms are just outstanding! Jozani is also famous for rare red colobus monkeys, these are not camera shy! A little harder to spot are the Zanzibar Sykes’ monkey; a very rare monkey species unique to Zanzibar. Along with red colubus monkeys you can expect to see bush babies, 50 different species of butterflies and 40 species of birds. To protect the wildlife it is not permitted to walk off the paths without an official guide. A network of various nature trails leads visitors through the forest. The main trail begins at the park entrance and takes about an hour at a leisurely stroll. In order to support community benefits, a knowledgeable resident will be your forest guide. He will lead you through the paths in the forest and mangrove area on the other side of the park. He introduces various plant and tree species and explains their medical benefits as natural remedies.
