Day 1: Kilimanjaro International Airport to Moshi

A staff member of Jerry Tanzania Tours will pick you up from the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). From here you will be driven to Hotel in Moshi and briefed on your upcoming safari. Enjoy a restful night before beginning your safari tomorrow.

Day 2: Moshi – Tarangire National Park – Karatu

In the morning at around 6:00 a.m. your safari guide will arrive at the hotel and inform the receptionist that he is waiting for you. After meeting up with your driver, you will start your approximate four-hour journey to Tarangire National Park. The park is famous for its diverse landscape with nine different vegetation zones. Tarangire is particularly known for the abundance of Ancient Baobab trees (the largest trees in the continent) which fill the landscape and dwarf the animals next to them. The river of the park is full of wildlife ranging from a large variety of birds to lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and, of course, elephants. In fact, this park has the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. The lunch area is fascinating, boasting an observatory with amazing views to the river and wildlife (with good chances of seeing a hunt while having your picnic). After an extensive game drive, enjoyed from the open roof of the vehicle, you will leave the park and travel to a nearby lodge, where you will overnight.

Day 3: Karatu to Serengeti National Park (Seronera Region)

After breakfast you will continue to the lush highlands where crops such as wheat, corn and coffee are grown. You will enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and stop for a short look into the crater from a viewing point. Continuing your journey around the crater, you will descend the other side, enjoying your free “African massage” on the bumpy road, passing Maasai villages on your way to the Serengeti National Park. At the Naabi Hill entrance gate you can walk to a viewpoint with spectacular views across the plains of the Serengeti savannah. You will then continue towards the Seronera Valley in the central part of the Serengeti. The park offers a multitude of wildlife including the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. Early in the evening you will arrive at the Kati Kati Tented Camp. The camp is in a secluded area, in the heart of the bush, and the stars at night are breath-taking.

Day 4 : Serengeti National Park (Seronera Region) to Serengeti National Park (Kogatende Region)

After breakfast, you will drive across the plains of Togoro and through the Mbuzi Mawe kopjes as you make your way into the park's northern reaches.
Along the way, you will have the opportunity to see the Serengeti's diverse scenery as you pass through wooded hills, tumbledown kopjes, and the wide open savannah. Your drive will show you everything from the diminutive dik-dik to towering elephants and giraffes.
Upon arriving in the Kogatende region, you will go out in search of both the Wildebeest Migration and the famous Big Five.

Day 5 & 6 Serengeti National Park (Kogatende Region)

After breakfast, you will start a game drive around the Kogatende area, searching around the kopjes looking for carnivores and the large migration groups that will be preparing to cross the Mara River into Kenya.
Home to large numbers of hippos and Nile crocodiles, the Mara River is the last major obstacle standing between the Wildebeest Migration and the relative safety of the Maasai Mara. If you are patient and a little lucky, you may even get to witness the death-defying crossing itself where wildebeest and zebras brave the river's currents and crocodiles in an attempt to reach safety on the opposite bank.

Day 7 : Serengeti National Park (Kogatende Region) – Serengeti National Park (Seronera Region)

Before leaving the northern part of amazing Serengeti, you take the opportunity this morning to spend more time observing this wonder of the natural world. As well as the huge herds, other animals in the Serengeti include giraffe, gazelle, impala, hartebeest and waterbuck – your driver-guide will be on the lookout for these, as well as some of the over 500 species of birdlife that have been spotted here, and he will be able to tell you all about them.
In the afternoon, you will return to the central part of Serengeti, where you will be taken to the Kati Kati Tented Camp for relaxation and your evening meal.

Day 8  : From Serengeti National Park (Seronera Region) to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast you will continue your safari in the Seronera Valley. Your safari guide will help you spot some more of the many species at Serengeti, teaching you about their fascinating habits and habitats.
After lunch at a picnic spot, you will drive eastwards to visit another spectacular setting for Tanzania’s wildlife, the famous Ngorongoro Crater. On arrival, you will settle in at the lodge while a tasty, hot dinner is prepared for you. Tomorrow, the wonders of the crater await you.

Day 9  : Ngorongoro Crater – Moshi

After breakfast at daybreak, you will start your descent on a narrow and steep road to the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest, unbroken and unflooded caldera in the world and it has an unbelievable diversity of wildlife. In addition to zebras and wildebeests, you might also spot the rare black rhino and other members of the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, and leopard. The crater is also home to other animals such as hyenas, waterbucks, bushbucks, eland and more than 500 bird species. After extensive game viewing and a lunch at a picnic spot, you will leave the caldera and travel back to Moshi, where you will arrive in the early evening.
