Tour Highlights

This 3-day camping safari offers you the chance to see a wide variety of wildlife amongst some of the most diversified landscapes. Not only will you visit the Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Park but also the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will see huge herds of elephants, in season flocks of flamingos and troops of baboons.

Day 1: Kilimanjaro International Airport to Moshi

journey to Tarangire National Park. The park, with its savannah, seasonal swamps and baobab trees, is
well known for its large number of elephant herds. During the dry seasons the Tarangire river, being one
of the main sources of water in the area, attract various animals, such as bushbucks, hartebeests and giraffes from not only the park itself but the neighboring Lake Manyara National Park. After an extensive
game drive, enjoyed from the open roof of the vehicle, you will leave the park and travel to a nearby

and the massive caldera is home to an amazing variety of animals. On your game drive you have the
possibility of seeing all different kinds of mammals ranging from the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo,
rhino and leopard – to Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles and mountain reedbucks. You might also see
spotted hyenas and some of the more than 500 bird species of the area. After a picnic lunch in the crater
and some more game viewing, you will leave the crater in the early evening and travel back to Karatu,
where you will overnight at the campsite.

Day 4: From Karatu to Lake Manyara National Park, Return to Moshi

After breakfast, you will leave your campsite and travel to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but diverse park 128 km west of Arusha. Although small in dimension (205 sq. miles), the park has breathtaking scenery and well famous for its lush acacia forest, giant figs and mahogany trees, as well as to a growing population of baboons and blue monkeys. Permanent residents of this park also include lions, giraffes, elephants, impalas and a huge amount of buffaloes. The lake is also home to a large number of hippos. Some unique facts about this park include flamingos in the lake shore as well as the Ground Hornbill and the Crested Eagle. The landscapes of Lake Manyara are something that cannot be described with words, and the game drives along the lake provide stunning photo opportunities of giraffes and buffaloes in the foreground and the lake (and its flamingos) in the background.
